I have a pretty decent metabolism and I work out pretty often usually. However, I’ve recently gained around 5 pounds and I want to lose maybe 10 pounds or so, so I was thinking of doing the cabbage soup diet for a week. Oh, and I’m going on vacation at the end of march and would like to look good in a bikini, so I’d lie the cabbage soup diet just to get me back in the swing of things. However, I was wondering, would the cabbage soup diet screw around with my metabolism?

I did the cabbage soup diet and after 2 days I threw the other 5 days worth in the trash. It does not matter how you try to spice it up it still tastes awful. Instead of torturing yourself by eating that god awful slop create a diet plan for a whole week that is healthy and low in carbs. Exercise as much as you can. Trust me after a few days of eating that stuff all you will want to do is eat a burger or some chocolate cake and chances are you will.

well, yes, any very low calorie diet will temporarily change your metabolism after a few days. your body becomes convinced that you are starving to death, and your body starts using less calories in order to try to save you. the cabbage soup diet is best followed for only a few days, then returning to a little higher calorie diet. or better yet, mix cabbage soup meals with a higher calorie meal at least once a day. preferably something higher in protein, so that as you lose weight, you don’t lose it all from muscle.

There exists a new cabbage soup diet plan with added protein which turns the body and your maetabolism to burn more fat. You’ll find it in the source below.
